PM for forging unity against militancy
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today urged people from all caste and creed across the country to forge a national resistance against emergence of militancy in Bangladesh.
“Islam is the religion of peace. Those who kill people in the name of Islam are not human. The people here are religious, but not bigots. Please, all of you (people) come forward to build a livable country for all,” she said.
Voicing against militancy, she stressed that “there is no space for militancy in Bangladesh.”

Hasina was speaking at a national addressing to the people as chieftain of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on completion of her government’s three years of being re-elected to office.
Claiming that her government prioritises free thinking and free thinkers, the prime minister said her government adopted national broadcast policy to ensure people’s rights to information.
Prime Minister Hasina said she did not commit any mistake in taking Bangladesh and its people towards development during her eight years of government.
“Bangladesh is a role model of development and it is now on the highway of development,” Hasina said while addressing the nation marking the three years of her government.
“I did not commit a mistake in taking the country towards development. If I have unknowingly done any wrong, you (people) will be the judge of it,” she said.
The prime minister also upheld her government’s development and progress in health, education and communication sectors by placing facts and figures.
