Khaleda’s London tour under scrutiny: Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said his party is scrutinising the purpose of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's London tour to determine whether she is involved in hatching any conspiracy.

“The UK unit of AL is keeping watch on every movement of Khaleda Zia in London… where she is going, whom she is meeting and all,” he said after coming out of a meeting of AL secretariat members at party president Sheikh Hasina's Dhanmondi office.

Replying to a query about BNP's proposal of polls-time supportive government, he said the next general election will be held as per the constitution and the constitution empowers the Election Commission to hold the election.

“It is possible to hold a fair election under the neutral Election Commission,” Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, added.
