Lawyers to meet Khaleda in afternoon

A delegation of six lawyers will meet BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in old central jail on Nazimuddin Road in Dhaka this afternoon.

The lawyers are: Barrister Jamir Uddin Sarker, Abdur Rezak Khan, advocate Khandker Mahbub Hossain, AJ Mohammad Ali, President of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Joynul Abedin and its General Secretary Mahbub Uddin Khokon.

Khaleda lands in jail

According to the BNP sources, the lawyers got permission from the jail authorities to meet Khaleda in jail around 3:00pm when BNP chairperson’s media wing member Shamsuddin Didar submitted a letter to the prison authorities this noon.

Khaleda landed in jail after a Dhaka court sentenced her to five years’ imprisonment in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case.
