Khaleda’s proposals hollow, a mockery: AL

Khaleda Zia’s proposals on formation of the next Election Commission are “hollow and a mockery before the nation,” ruling Awami League said today.

Awami League’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader came up with the impromptu reaction on behalf of his party at a press conference in Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi office.

“Khaleda Zia’s demand for a search committee is hollow and ridiculous,” he said.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia came up with suggestion for a search committee for the next election commission which will oversee the next general election.

The current commission, led by Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad, is due to expire by February next year.
