Khaleda meets Tarique in Jeddah
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia yesterday afternoon to perform Hajj, today met her eldest son Tarique Rahman in Jeddah.
Khaleda and Tarique exchanged views with the leaders and activists of local unit of BNP at Jeddah Royal Palace, BNP sources said.
The BNP chairperson arrived at the Jeddah Airport around 5:15am (BST) and was received by local BNP leaders there, Sayrul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP chief’s media wing, told The Daily Star.
BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman and his family members also arrived at Jeddah from London to perform Hajj at the invitation of Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.
Tarique’s wife Zubaida Rahman, daughter Zaima Rahman and late Arafat Rahman Koko’s wife Sharmila Rahman also accompanied him there.
Khaleda and her family members are scheduled to go to Makkah tonight, sources said.
They will perform tawaf of Kaba Sharif and offer prayers in Masjid al-Ḥarām.
