Khaleda to finalise strategy tonight for EC talks

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will hold meeting with the party’s senior leaders to finalise its strategy tonight on the talks with the president on formation of the Election Commission (EC).

A 13-member BNP delegation led by Khaleda will attend the meeting with President Abdul Hamid to Bangabhaban around 4:30pm tomorrow.

The other members of the delegation are Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir secretary general of BNP and its national standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Lt Gen (retd) Mahbubur Rahman, Moudud Ahmed, Nazrul Islam Khan, Mirza Abbas, Abdul Moyeen Khan, Goyeshwar Chandra Roy and Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Tariqul Islam, Rafiqul Islam Miah.

“BNP chairperson has called an unofficial meeting with the senior leaders tonight to finalise the talking points and meeting strategies,” a senior leader seeking anonymity told The Daily Star.

Khaleda will start from her residence to Bangabhaban in Dhaka around 3:00pm tomorrow.

The central leaders will join her later at Nayapaltan, said Syrul Kabir Khan, said an official of Khaleda’s press wing.
