Khaleda faces indictment if not appear on Jan 9
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will be indicted in absentia in 10 cases filed against her if she fails to appear before court on January 9, a Dhaka court judge said today.
Judge Kamrul Hossain Mollah of Metropolitan Sessions Judges Court said this while fixing the hearing date following 10 separate petitions submitted by Khaleda’s lawyer Sanaullah Mia today.
Sanaullah in the petition sought adjournment of the hearing saying that his client Khaleda could not appear before the court as she has to appear before another court in connection with Zia Charitable Trust graft case to place her self-defence statements.
Khaleda is scheduled to appear before a special court at Bakshibazar in the capital today in connection with Zia Charitable Trust corruption case.
