7yr jail for Tarique: JCD calls strike at educational institutions July 24

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, student wing of BNP, today called for strike at educational institutions across the county on July 24 protesting a High Court verdict against Tarique Rahman.

Earlier in the day, the HC handed BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman to seven-year imprisonment after scrapping his acquittal in a Tk 20.41 crore money laundering case.

The court also fined Tarique at Tk 20 crore in connection with case.

JCD President Rajib Ahsan and General Secretary Akramul Hasan announced the programme this evening through a media release issued by its Press Secretary Md Abdus Sattar Patwari.
