I’m not active in politics: Sohel Taj

Former lawmaker and ex-state minister for home Sohel Taj today said in Facebook that he is not active in the politics of Awami League.

“It has become evident from reading your comments and news reports from the print and electronic media that there is a prevailing perception that I would be assigned some important position in the AL Council,” he wrote in a post on his page.

“There has been speculation in the media and various circles that I have returned to Bangladesh for that reason,” he wrote.

“I want to clearly state that this perception/assumption is not at all accurate or true. I have not expressed my desire or interest for any position or post to anyone because I have not been in active politics for the last several years.”
