Govt wants to push BNP towards conflict: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today alleged that the government wants to push the party men towards a conflict by creating obstruction on holding programmes marking the January 5, 2014, national election.

“We don’t believe in politics of confrontation rather changeover of power through voting,” Fakhrul said while addressing a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka.

Earlier, he held a joint meeting there to successfully organise a rally at the city’s Suhrawardy Udyan on January 7.

Fakhrul slammed the government for creating obstruction to BNP men to hold black flag rally at different parts of the country.

He said such activities are nothing but the ruling party’s provocation.

“They [AL] want to put BNP in a conflicting situation,” Fakhrul added.
