Govt fears people: BNP
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said that the government denied the party to hold its “solidarity day” rally because it fears the people.
“We sought permission to rally at Suhrawardi Udyan. We were denied. They spread lies. The government fears the people and their gathering,” Fakhrul said while addressing a programme at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity this afternoon.
Terming Awami League as a politically ruined party, Fakhrul said, “Awami League is an isolated political party from people. BNP is on the right path of politics.”
Calling upon the people to know about the real history of the November 7, Fakhrul said: “The party founder Shaheed president Ziaur Rahman was given state power by the people in face of a political setback at that time.”
However, the BNP leader did not make any comment of the party’s rally which is expected to be held on November 13.
Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal, women front of BNP organised the programme to mark the “National Revolution and Solidarity Day.”
