Give MRP to Rizvi in 7 days: HC

The High Court today directed the director general of the Department of Immigration and Passport to give in seven days a machine readable passport (MRP) to BNP leader Rizvi Ahmed.
The HC bench of Justice Quamrul Islam Siddique and Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif passed the order following a writ petition filed by Rizvi.
The Detective Branch of the Department Of Immigration and Passport has been asked to issue the MRP for Rizvi in seven days after receiving the HC order.
Rizvi submitted an application on December 12 last year to the DG of the passport department for an MRP but the authorities did not grant his application.
Later on, he submitted the writ petition to the HC seeking its directive in this regard.
