Forge united move for multiparty democracy: Khaleda

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia today called upon all democratic forces to forge a united movement for restoration of country’s multiparty democracy.

“The democracy which we had earned at the cost of huge bloodshed has been hijacked. The anti-people force has confined all rights of people. At this situation, all the democratic forces need to be united in a bid to restore multiparty democracy in the country,” Khaleda she in her New Year message.

“In 2016, we had gone through several bitter experiences including losing our rights which will make us sad in the New Year. On the other hand, this bitter experience will inspire us to go ahead with new strength,” she added.

The former premier also stressed the need for united work to make the coming year, a year of peaceful and advancement.

The BNP chief also hoped that enforced disappearances, killing, fighting and all sorts of repression and violence will come to an end in the New Year.
