Fakhrul blames govt for instigating communalism
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam today blamed the government for instigating people to attack on Hindu in Brahmanbaria to divert people’s attention.
“It is a well-planned attack. Communalism has been instigated,” Fakhrul said while addressing a programme at the Institute of Engineers’ Bangladesh in Dhaka this afternoon.
Fakhrul said a huge number of law enforcers for police and Rapid Action Battalion were deployed in the area last night. “Despite this, five more houses of the Hindus were set on fire today.”
“People are not foolish. They can easily understand that the ruling party wants such a situation so that communalism is instigated in the country,” the BNP leader said.
He said BNP protected the people’s communal harmony in the past. “Our party believes in communal harmony”.
“The government wants to hang on to power using its state machines, but it does not do anything to ensure people’s rights,” Fakhrul alleged.
The country is passing through a security crisis as there is no rule of law here, he alleged.
