BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today blamed Bangladesh Chhatra League, the student front of the ruling Awami League, for turning the country’s educational institutions into its political office.

“Chhatra League activists have made all educational institutions its political office and turned the country into a death valley by establishing their muscle power,” Fakhrul said in a press statement today.

Fakhrul also expressed his party’s condemnation to the attack on Sylhet MC College student Khadiza Begum Nargis.

“Students of the country’s educational institutions are being killed, raped, repressed and assaulted by Chhatra League activists due to the inaction of Awami League,” he said.

The attack on Khadiza is nothing but a manifestation of BCL misdeeds, Fakhrul said. “I have no words to express my condemnation in this regard.”

Extending his profound sympathy to Khadiza, now undergoing treatment at the Square Hospital in Dhaka, Fakhrul demanded exemplary punishment of the attacker.
