CEC doing everything to keep AL in power: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam today criticised the chief election commissioner for introducing Digital Voting Machine (DVM) and said the commission is doing everything to keep Awami League in power forever.

The election commission had introduced Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) though the system had been proved dysfunctional in the US election, the BNP leader said.

Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed has introduced DVM, Fakhrul said terming introduction of the system as a new dimension of fraudulence in election.

“It means the commission will do everything necessary to keep Awami League in power forever,” he said while addressing a programme organised by Zia Parishad at the Institution of Engineers’ Bangladesh in Dhaka this afternoon.
