BNP standing committing member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain today blamed ruling party’s student front Bangladesh Chhatra League for carrying out anarchical activities in educational institutions across the country.

Referring to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s comment that “people now have lost their human interest,” Mosharraf said: “It is not the people but Chhatra League, who have lost their human interest.”

Mosharraf came up with the reaction while addressing a programme in the Jatiya Press Club.

In the parliament, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday blasted bystanders for not saving a Sylhet college girl Khadiza Begum Nargis who was attacked brutally and some BNP leaders for trying to explain the incident from a political perspective.

Describing the government as unelected, the BNP leader said Awami League has no moral ground to cling on to power.

About the search committee for fresh appointment of election commissioners, Mosharraf said the government is heading towards another spineless election commission.

“We, the countrymen will not accept a spineless election commission,” Mosharraf said pressing for talks with all political parties to form an acceptable election commission.

Swadhinata Forum, a pro-BNP organisation, arranged the programme in remembrance of BNP’s standing committee member ASM Hannan Shah.
