BNP won't be able to win until it boycotts Jamaat: Nasim
Awami League Presidium Member Mohammad Nasim today said that BNP would not be able to win the election until it boycotts Jamaat-e-Islami.
"BNP won't be able to win until it boycotts Jamaat; rather people will hate you (BNP) in the long run," Nasim categorically said referring to the landslide victory in Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) polls.
Nasim, also the coordinator of Awami League-led fourteen-party alliance, came up with the remarks while talking to journalists after a meeting of the alliance at Dhanmondi political office of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina.
"BNP along with its political partners Jamaat is hatching conspiracy in all steps . . . It always creates controversy over all good works of the present government led by Sheikh Hasina," he said.
He also urged BNP to severe the ties with Jamaat for committing anti-humanitarian acts by its party leaders and activities during the 1971 War of Liberation.
Nasim further thanked all concerned especially Election commission (EC), party leaders, workers and law enforcement agencies for holding a free, fair and credible election in Narayanganj.
On raid at Ashkona militants' hideout, he thanked the members of law enforcement agencies who are trying to root out the militancy and terrorism from the country.
