Fakhrul calls for movement for polls-time body

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today called upon his party men to wage a movement to hold the next general election under a polls-time supportive government.

“We will have to build up people’s opinion to realise our demand for election under a supportive government,” Fakhrul said while addressing a programme marking the party’s founding anniversary in Dhaka this afternoon.

Fakhrul said Awami League’s political existence will face ruination if BNP activists come to the street and take part in the next general election under a neutral management.

The next general must be held in the country according to the wish of the people, Fakhrul said asking his party men to visit door to door of the countrymen to meet the demand.

‘BNP is not doing dirty politics over Rohingya issue’

Fakhrul also criticised Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader as he blamed BNP for indulged in dirty politics over Rohingya issue.

“BNP is a liberal, democratic, secular political party. It does not believe in dirty politics that Awami League does,” he replied Quader.

Fakhrul also blamed the ruling Awami League for its failure to step up immediate measures to deal with the Rohingya issue.
