BNP leaders distribute leaflets demanding Khaleda’s release
BNP senior leaders today distributed leaflets across the country demanding release of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail and urging people to resist “the government’s efforts to revive one-party rule.”
The party standing committee members and other senior leaders distributed the leaflets among pedestrians at different parts of the capital.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir inaugurated the programme distributing leaflets among people near BNP’s Nayapaltan headquarters around 12:45pm.
Talking to reporters, he said they have taken a vow to free Khaleda from jail through a peaceful movement. “As part of our movement, we have started distributing leaflets to mobilise public support.”
Through the leaflets, BNP leaders call upon people to be vocal against the “unlawful and conspiratorial jailing of Khaleda”.
