BNP leader Sohel secures HC bail but won’t get release

The High Court today granted bail to BNP leader Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel for six months in eight violence cases.

The bench of Justice AKM Abdul Hakim and Justice Bhabani Protap Singh passed the order after hearing eight separate petitions filed by Sohel seeking bail in the cases.

Sohel’s lawyer Jahirul Haque Suman told The Daily Star that his client will not walk out of jail following the HC order as he was arrested in several other cases.

Police filed the eight cases against him with different police stations in Dhaka on charges of setting fire to vehicles at different dates in the capital in 2015.
