BNP-Jamaat to be tried for patronising anti-liberation forces: Hasina
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today warned that BNP-Jamaat would be brought to justice on the soil of the country for sheltering the anti-liberation forces.
Hasina also accused BNP founder Ziaur Rahman of handing over the national flag of Bangladesh to the people who committed crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
“We cannot allow the blood of our martyred intellectuals to go in vain,” the prime minister said this while addressing a function in Dhaka this evening marking the Martyred Intellectual Day.
Hasina also expressed her firm determination to continue the ongoing trial of the war criminals.
Claiming that Awami League works for the welfare of the people, Hasina said no development of the country will be ensured if the anti-liberation forces come to power again.
“We will not allow anyone to play a game with the fate of Bangladesh,” she said describing the country as the role model of development across the world.
She also called upon all people to know the real history of the country so that they can pay their due respect to those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country’s independence.
