Quader says plot to kill PM in play
Awami League’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader says there is a plot in play to kill Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He also hinted that local and international cliques are involved in such a conspiracy, while speaking to journalists during a relief distribution among Rohingyas in Bandarban’s Naikhhangchhari.
“A vested national and international quarter is hatching a conspiracy to assassinate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina being jealous of her sky-high popularity,” Quader said in a limited time.
Bangladesh’s Prime Minister’s Office has issued an official statement in response to some Indian media reports on attempt on Sheikh Hasina on August 24. It rubbished such media reports and said such reports were baseless, confusing and motivated.
Amir Hossain Amu, Awami League’s presidium member and a veteran doing politics by Hasina’s side for a long time, said he did not find any truth to the claims made in those reports.
Awami League’s secretary Quader and his predecessor Syed Ashraful Islam have been hinting that vested quarters might take an attempt on Sheikh Hasina for over a year now.
