Arrest order for 30 activists of BNP-led 20-party
A Dhaka court today issued arrest warrants against 30 leaders and activists of BNP-led 20-party alliance including Barkatullah Bulu in a case filed in 2014 under explosives act.
Judge Kamrul Hossain Mollah of Metropolitan Sessions Judges Court passed the order after accepting charges against 43 people including BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir showing 33 of them fugitive.
Among the accused, BNP leader Fakhrul, Mirza Abbas, Rafiqul Amin and 10 other activists are now on bail.
The court directed the officer-in-charge of Paltan Police Station to submit a report on the execution of arrest warrant on January 25.
The case was filed over torching a vehicle at Paltan intersection in Dhaka during the alliance’s anti-government agitation in 2014.
Law enforcers pressed charges accusing the 43 leaders and activists on April 28 this year.
