ALCWC meeting on Nov 8
The newly formed Awami League Central Working Committee, the highest policy-making body of the party will hold its first meeting on November 8.
The meeting will be held around 4:00pm at Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official residence Gono Bhaban in Dhaka, says a press release. Sheikh Hasina, also president of Awami League, will chair the meeting.
The ALCWC members will discuss the country’s prevailing political situation, socio-economical condition and different organisational issues in the meeting, party insiders told The Daily Star.

Newly elected AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader, also the minister for Road Transport and Bridges, in a statement today urged all members of ALCWC to attend the meeting in time.
In the 20th national council of Awami League at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan on October 22-23, the party councillors unanimously elected Sheikh Hasina as its president for the eighth consecutive term and Obaidul Quader as general secretary of the party for the first time.
Later on Saturday, the party announced its full-fledged new Central Working Committee, except four posts.
The party also announced advisory council, parliamentary board and local government election nomination board.
