AL general secretary meets Ashraful
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today paid a courtesy call to his predecessor Syed Ashraful Islam at his Hare Road residence in Dhaka this morning.
Quader, also Minister of Road, Transport and Bridges, accompanied by some other top leaders of the party, met the former AL general secretary who returned home yesterday after spending a month long vacation in London.
Other AL leaders, who were present at that time, are Organising Secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Cultural Affairs Secretary Asim Kumar Ukil and Information and Research Affair Secretary Afzal Hossain.
“During the meeting with Ashraf, Quader enquired about Ashraf's wife who is now undergoing treatment in London,” Asim Ukil told The Daily Star.
He also informed that Ashraf and Quader had one-to-one meeting for about ten minutes and discussed about several organisational issues.
Obaidul Quader replaced Ashraf, also minister of Public Administration, as the party’s general secretary at AL's 20th council held on October 22-23 in Dhaka.
