4 BNP men ‘picked up’ from Nayapaltan

BNP today claimed that police picked up the party's assistant office secretary and three leaders of its student front Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) from Nayapaltan office in Dhaka.

The detainees are Taiful Islam Tipu, assistant office secretary of BNP, Nazmul Hasan, vice chairman of the JCD central committee, Shafikul Islam Shafik, its assistant training affairs secretary, and Sarwar Alam, president of the JCD Asha University unit.

Besides, in a press statement, JCD president Rajib Hasan and its general secretary Akramul Hasan expressed their strong condemnation over the detention and said such type of acts of the law enforcers is pushing the country towards an anarchical situation.

They claimed that police picked up their party leaders from in front of BNP central office at Nayapaltan around 3:30pm without any reason.
