MATCH 18: BANGLADESH VS SRI LANKA
Sri Lanka 332/1 (50 Overs)
Bangladesh 240 (47 Overs)              Sri Lanka won the match by 92 runs

Bangladesh lost to Sri Lanka by 92 runs in the 18th match of the World Cup 2015 at Melbourne today and slid one place down to fourth position on the points chart in Pool A.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, jumped two places to secure the second spot.

Choosing to bat first, Sri Lanka made 332 riding on centuries from Tilakaratne Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara and an abysmal field performance by Bangladesh.

However, Sri Lanka having lost only a single wicket to post the total would have liked about 40 more runs on the scoreboard. Rubel Hossain got the only wicket.

For Bangladesh, the Sri Lankan innings was heralded with dropped chances, giving double lives to Lahiru Thirimanne and Kumar Sangakkara, and missed run out chances.

The sun did not shine for Bangladesh in the latter half either as they lost three openers inside the first 10 overs followed by dismissals at regular intervals.

Lasith Malinga claimed three wickets. Suranga Lakmal and Tilakaratne Dilshan claimed two wickets each while another was claimed by Angelo Mathews.
