Due to Covid-19 pandemic, visa on-arrival had been closed since June 2020. Nevertheless, many foreign investors and businessmen are still arriving at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) and applying for on-arrival visas.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) – in close coordination with the Government of Bangladesh – facilitated the return of 17 Bangladeshi migrants from Tunisia.

Travellers arriving from South Asian countries of Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Pakistan will now have to undergo 21 days of mandatory quarantine upon arrival in Malaysia, in light of the spread of variants of concern (VOC).
