UNB, Dhaka

US-Bangla Airlines is set to resume scheduled flights on the Dhaka-Kathmandu route in September, ending an eight-year suspension of its services on the sector.

Initially, the private carrier plans to operate four flights a week using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Confirming the development, US-Bangla Airlines General Manager (Public Relations) Kamrul Islam said preparations for launching the service are in the final stage and a formal announcement will be made soon.

US-Bangla suspended operations on the Dhaka-Kathmandu route after the crash of Flight BS-211 at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on March 12, 2018.

The Bombardier Dash 8-Q400 aircraft, operating from Dhaka, crashed while attempting to land.
