The Bangladesh embassy in Doha has urged Bangladeshi nationals in Qatar to take special precautions and avoid military installations, citing security concerns arising from ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.

In a statement issued this afternoon, the Doha embassy urged expatriates to prioritise safety by staying at home or in a secure location. The embassy asked Bangladesh citizens to avoid areas near military facilities. It advised citizens not to go outside without urgent need until the situation improves.

The embassy also urged Bangladeshis to keep essential items ready at all times, including cash, Qatar ID, health card, necessary medicine, a mobile charger and dry food.

Officials further asked residents to comply with Qatari laws and follow all statements and directives issued by the host government. The mission warned that sharing photos or videos related to the situation on social media could breach local regulations and urged caution online.

Separately, Biman Bangladesh Airlines advised passengers travelling to Middle Eastern destinations not to go to the airport without first contacting the airline.

“Passengers travelling to Middle East-bound flights, including Dammam, Jeddah, Madina, Riyadh, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi, are requested not to come to the airport without contacting Biman Bangladesh Airlines,” a notice signed by the airline’s general manager (public relations) Boshra Islam said.

Biman also asked passengers to call its hotline at 13636 for updates.
