President visits ailing minister Tuku at hospital

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today visited Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood Tuku at Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital in Dhaka, where he is undergoing treatment.

The president went to the hospital at 9:30am and enquired about Tuku’s health and treatment, according to sources concerned.

He also spoke with the attending physicians, who briefed him on the minister’s condition and treatment.

Tuku, a BNP Standing Committee member, has been suffering from fever, cold and cough for the past several days, people close to him said.

Tuku was elected from Sirajganj-2 in the February general election and sworn in as minister on February 17.
