Khasru invited to attend confce on HR in Japan

Law Minister Abdul Matin Khasru has been invited to Japan to attend a conference on human rights to be held in Tokyo later this month, reports BSS. Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh Yoshikazu Kaneko, who called on the Law Minister at the former's office yesterday, extended the invitation on behalf of the government of Japan. The conference on "Human rights in the Asia-Pacific region's is slated to be held in Tokyo from January 27 to 28. The conference will discuss the ways and means of international commitment and cooperation for the promotion and protection of human rights. Representatives from the countries of the Asia-Pacific region and the UN Commissioner for Human Rights will take part in the conference. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights will be discussed in the conference as 1998 is the 50th anniversary of the declaration of human rights.
