Hasina accorded reception by Hamburg Mayor
First Mayor of Hamburg Dr Henning Voscheran yesterday afternoon accorded a reception to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at his office in Hamburg, Germany, reports BSS. Welcoming the Prime Minister Voscheran highly lauded the efforts of the government of Sheikh Hasina for her country's development. He particularly mentioned and praised the personal interest and initiative of Sheikh Hasina for removal of illiteracy and alleviation of poverty." The presentation of key-note speech by her at the UNESCO International Conference for Adult Education which began here this morning is an ample testimony of her concern over the curse of illiteracy," Voscheran noted. Sheikh Hasina, recollecting her earlier visit to Germany noted that while staying here she heard the tragic news of the assassination of her father and other family members by certain vested groups. She said that she also visited Hamburg city in 1969 as tourist.
