Canadian HC calls on Ctg Mayor
CHITTAGONG, July 19: The Canadian High Commissioner in Bangladesh Nicholas H R Etiheridge said here on Thursday Bangladesh will achieve a self-reliant economy if transit facility is given in Chittagong Port, reports BSS. The high commissioner said this when he called on Chittagong City Mayor Alhaj A B M Mahiuddin Chowdhury at the latter's office here. The mayor briefed the Canadian High Commissioner about the port city and said it has been attracted as focal point of overseas investment due to its multifarious facilities.
The mayor said many countries have already shown keen interests to implement various projects in Chittagong. Nicholas commended various expanded educational programmes in the city undertaken by the corporation.
