SC to issue order on GM Quader’s role in JP

The Supreme Court today is to deliver an order on a petition that challenged a High Court order clearing the way for Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader to perform the responsibilities of his post.

A three-member bench of the Appellate Division of the SC led by Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique set the date after hearing the petition yesterday.

Former JP leader Ziaul Haque Mridha filed the petition seeking a stay on the HC order.

Following the petition, Justice M Enayetur Rahim, the apex court chamber judge, on November 30 stayed the HC order and also sent the plea to its full bench for further hearing.
