Khaleda Zia shifted to CCU
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been shifted to the coronary care unit (CCU) from her cabin at Dhaka's Evercare Hospital, where she is being treated for lung and heart infections.
"She is now under close observation at the CCU, supervised by a medical board that includes local and foreign specialists," BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan said at 1:00pm quoting Khaleda's personal physician, AZM Zahid Hossain.
Sayrul added that BNP will hold special prayers across the country after Jummah prayers tomorrow, seeking speedy recovery of the BNP chairperson.
Khaleda, 80, has long suffered from multiple health complications, including heart, liver, and kidney issues, diabetes, lung problems, arthritis, and eye-related conditions. She has a permanent pacemaker and previously undergone heart stenting.
