BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said party leaders and activists will not leave the road until democracy is re-established in the country.

The BNP leader was addressing a rally at Kala Kachua, on the outskirts of Cumilla town, before starting a long march to Chattogram in the morning.

The Awami League government is illegal, they should not stay in power, Fakhrul said.

BNP is holding a series of programmes to press home their one-point demand for holding the election under a non-party caretaker government.

Since morning, thousands of BNP leaders and activists thronged Kala Kachua with fleets of vehicles to join the long march.

Cumilla City BNP and Cumilla South BNP organised the rally with BNP General Secretary of Cumilla Dakkhin unit Hazi Aminur Rashid Yeasin in the chair.

The rally was scheduled to start at 9:00am but it started at 9:30am due to rain.
