The government has no restrictions or objections regarding BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman's return to Bangladesh, Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said today.

Responding to questions about Tarique Rahman's statement that the timing of his return is not entirely within his control, Shafiqul said, "The government has no restrictions or objections of any kind in this regard."

He also noted that Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus has expressed deep concern over the health condition of former prime minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

The chief adviser has sought prayers from the countrymen for her quick recovery, he added.

Khaleda is suffering from heart and lung infections and pneumonia and is currently being treated at Evercare Hospital's coronary care unit (CCU) under the supervision of both local and foreign specialists.
