Youth arrested for raping minor stepsister in Manikganj

A youth was arrested this morning for raping his minor stepsister in Manikganj's Saturia upazila.

The victim -- a fifth-grader -- was four months pregnant when the police were informed about the incident by locals, our Manikganj correspondent reports quoting Md Ashraful Alam, officer-in-charge of Saturia Police Station. Additionally, Dr Md Mamun-Ur-Rashid, resident medical officer (RMO) of Saturia Upazila Health Complex, confirmed that the victim is four months pregnant.

The victim was first sent to Saturia Upazila Health Complex. Later, she was shifted to Manikganj 250-Bed General Hospital for better treatment, the RMO said.

The victim's mother filed a case with the police station in this regard.
