‘Robber’ beaten dead

A suspected robber was beaten to death by a mob after his gang shot and injured five villagers in Golapganj upazila early yesterday.

The identity of the deceased, aged around 40 years, could not be known immediately.

Injured villagers were admitted to the hospital.

Police said armed robbers entered the house of Gyan Sen at Pashchim Dattarail village, but hearing cry villagers surrounded the gang.

Sensing danger, the gang opened fire, leaving five villagers injured.

Locals managed to catch one of the gang and beat him up, leaving him dead.
