No-confidence petition filed in Hadi murder case

Inqilab Moncho leader files the petition, rejecting probe report

Inqilab Moncho's Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber today filed a no-confidence petition with a Dhaka court, rejecting the probe report in a case filed over the killing of their platform's spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.

Dhaka Chief Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam held a hearing on the petition this afternoon, said a court staffer.

The magistrate kept pending the order till filing this report at 1:50pm, he said.

On January 6, the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed a charge sheet in the case with the court, naming prime accused Faisal Karim Masud, four of his family members and 12 others.

On December 12 last year, Hadi, an independent aspirant for the Dhaka-8 constituency, was shot in Dhaka’s Paltan area on December 12 while campaigning ahead of the upcoming national elections. He died on December 18 while undergoing treatment in Singapore.

On December 14, the member secretary of Inqilab Moncho filed an attempted murder case with Paltan Model Police Station against Faisal and several unnamed individuals, which later turned into a murder case.
