College student killed after ‘rape’

The body of a female college student was recovered from a cropland in Noakhali's Companiganj yesterday morning.

Shahidul Islam, superintendent of Noakhali police, suspected that victim Shanaz Parveen, 26, resident of Kabirhat upazila, was killed after rape.

Shanaz also used to work part-time as a nurse at a private clinic in Basurhat.

She left the clinic around 8:00pm on Sunday but did not return home, said her family members.
