2 arrested for raping, recording video of school student in Jashore

Police arrested two men for raping a class 10 student and videotaping the incident in Abhaynagar upazila of Jashore.

Arrestees Mahbubur Rahman (38) and Anik Bagha (25) also allegedly blackmailed the victim and demanded TK 50,000 in exchange of deleting the video, reports our Benapole correspondent quoting KM Shamim Hasan, officer-in-charge of Abhaynagar Police Station.

The arrestees had taken the victim's documents, promising to help her become a journalist, the OC said.

Yesterday, they asked her to meet them near Mahbub's fish enclosure to collect her journalist ID and raped her. They recorded the incident and threatened to release the video if she disclosed it, the OC said quoting the case statement.

The victim's mother filed a case under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act and Pornography Control Act with Abhaynagar Police Station in this regard last night.

Police then arrested the duo during a drive on the same night, the OC added.
