131 arrested in nationwide drives between Aug 28 and Sept 4: ISPR

A total of 131 people, including top criminals, robbers, illegal arms holders, drug traders, smugglers, online gamblers, and drug addicts, were arrested in joint operations across Bangladesh between August 28 and September 4, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said today.

The operations were carried out by different infantry divisions and independent brigades of the Bangladesh Army, in coordination with other law enforcement agencies in Dhaka and other areas.

According to ISPR, the forces seized 20 illegal firearms, 845 rounds of ammunition, 49 cartridges, two magazines, locally made weapons, narcotics, walkie-talkies, a bulletproof jacket, passports, mobile phones, other stolen items, and cash. The detainees were handed over to local police stations for interrogation and legal action.
