Two 12-yr-olds drown in the Dharla

Two students drowned in the Dharla at Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat today.

Police and locals said three friends went to bathe in the Dharla near Bangkanda Rubber Dam area this noon. Rafsan Sarkar, 12, son of Rasel Sarkar, and Miskat Hossain, 12, son of Nurul Islam Nuru drowned. The students of class-VII at Patgram Islami Adarsha Bidyaniketan High School did not know how to swim.

Locals said they rescued the two and took them to Patgram Upazila Health Complex but they died on the way, reports our Lalmonirhat correspondent.

The bodies have been handed over to the families.

An unnatural death case has been registered with the local police station.
