Motorcyclist killed as truck hits bike in Satkhira

A man was killed after a truck rammed into his motorcycle on Satkhira town this afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Abdullah Sheikh, 32, son of Sirajuddin Sheikh of Mobarakpur village in Tala upazila, reports a correspondent from Satkhira quoting Satkhira Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector Anil Mukherjee.

Witnesses said Abdullah was going home in Mobarakpur of Tala upazila on a motorcycle around 3:00pm.

When he reached Kharibila intersection on the bypass road, a truck coming from behind hit Abdullah Sheikh while overtaking another truck, leaving him dead on the spot.

SI Anil Mukherjee said the body was brought to the police station and it will be sent to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy tomorrow.

Mob seized the truck and handed it over to the police but its driver managed to flee the scene, the police official added.
