Motorcyclist killed in road accident

A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a covered van in Rangpur's Kaunia yesterday.

Mizanur Rahman, 33, of Lalmonirhat's Aditmari, was heading towards his office around 9:30am by a motorcycle. His vehicle collided head-on with a covered van, leaving him critically injured, said police.

Locals rushed him to Kaunia Upazila Health Complex but he succumbed to his injuries on the way, said Mostaser Billah, officer-in-charge of Kaunia Police Station.

Police seized the covered van and detained its driver Mozibar Rahman, the police officer added.
