Fire at DNCC building doused

A fire broke out at the 22-storey building of Dhaka North City Corporation in Gulshan-2 this morning.

The fire originated around 7:08am on the seventh floor which houses the office of the mayor, said Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.  

Four firefighting units doused the blaze after two hours' frantic effort. The cause of the fire could not be known immediately, he said.

However, A DNCC official said they suspected that fire originated at the electrical control room.
