2 youths die falling off roof of running train while taking selfies

Two youths died after falling off from the roof of a running train while taking selfies in Badarganj upazila of Rangpur this evening.

The identities of the victims could not be ascertained immediately, reports our Dinajpur correspondent, quoting Abu Bakkar Siddique, station master of Badarganj Railway Station.

The accident took place around 6:30pm.

According to him, a local train was going towards Rangpur from Dinajpur's Parbatipur upazila.

"As the train entered the Badarganj Railway Station, the two youths, who were travelling on the roof of the train, got contacted with the overhead cables of dish lines and collapsed on the ground," the railway official said.

He added that the duo was taking selfies during the accident.

They died of their injuries on their way to the hospital, he added.
